The Hotel New Hampshire

The Hotel New Hampshire has all the common elements of a John Irving book. There is the sexual aspect, the writer's aspect (World According toGarp), and parts of it are set in Vienna (World According to Garp). But this book also contains its own special aspects. A good example of this is the bears (but you'll need to read the book to know what I'm talking about). The book follows a family of characters through their lives. You follow as the father tries desperately to run a successful hotel, as they move from place to place, as they grow old. The author does a great job of character and plot development. In this book, John Irving again demonstrates his great writing abilities. The book flows well, with many twists and turns, leading up to the ending.
