Ordinary People

In story of "Ordinary People", by Judith Guest, a family deals with the tragedy of a losing a son. Each family member has their own way of dealing with their situation. The main character is Conrad, second son, and the story follows him as he deals with life after the loss of his brother and attempting suicide. He deals with meeting with a psychiatrist and meeting old friends. At the same time Conrad's parents' relationship is close to collapsing. The book shows the reality of what family life can really be like and how different types of people cope with their situations.
