A Separate Peace

Gene was a former student at Devon High School in New Hampshire, he then became good friends with his roommate whose name was Finny. Gene was very intellectual and Finny was an athlete. They formed a society where they would jump off a tree branch. As there relationship goes on Gene somewhat gets jealous of Finny and as Finny was going to jump off the tree Gene shook it and forced Finny to fall of the tree and shatter his leg, everyone thought it was an accident but it really wasn't. Because of this tragedy Finny could not participate in the summer Olympics that he wanted to in 1944. Then it was summer and Gene took a short vacation, he went to Finny's house and confessed to him that he had shook the tree on purpose, Finny didn't listen. One night Gene, Finny, and a few other friends went to a room in the school to talk about the incident and explain the truth to what has really happened. Finny starts crying and then he runs out of the room and falls down the marble stairs. That night Gene wanted to talk to Finny at the infirmary but it was not possible, he then fell asleep, the next morning when he talked to Finny he took full blame for the tragedy and Finny accepted it, and then when the doctor was operating on him the marrow detached from the bone and went through his bloodstream straight to the heart and killed him. Because the story is so interesting it makes me love this book and recommend it to other people so that they can read it.
