China Boy

Gus Lee writes an exciting story about a 7 year-old boy named Kai-Ting surviving the streets of San Francisco. Kai receives daily abuses from both his peers and his racist stepmother. He is then sent to the YMCA to take boxing lessons to defend himself from whoever bullies him. After a few years of boxing lessons, Kai has the courage to stand up to the neighborhood bully. He is successful at beating the bully into a bloody submission. Not only did he stand up to defend himself against the neighborhood bully, but also his stepmother. Gus Lee presents everything from moving into the neighborhood, to beating the neighborhood bully.
