Introduction:  In this lab, we will try to figure out which types of foods contain which types of organic compounds.  It’s basically the same procedure as the first lab, except we replace the solutions with the foods.  We will be using pretzels, beans, peanuts, and lentos.  We will see what type of compounds (protein, starch, saccharose, and lipids) the foods above contains.

Hypothesis:  The question for this lab is: what types of compounds are in the foods?

Materials:  Bunsen burner, clamps, goggles, apron, beans, lentos, peanuts, pretzels, iodine, fehling, biuret, and paper.

Interpretation: After experimenting with the foods.  I have finally came up with the results: Lentos has starch and lots of protein, pretzels have lots of starch, saccharose, and a little bit of lipids, peanuts have lots of protein and lipids, and beans also have lots of proteins and lipids.  There turns out to be at least more than one organic compound in each foods.

Conclusion:  The question was what types of organic compounds are in the foods?  The answer and results are in the graph below.  I learned what types of foods have starch, protein, saccharose, and lipids.
