Assignment Commentary: While sitting in class I began to ponder upon the differences between public and private schools.

The differences between I.H.S (private school) and Phillip Burton (public school).

VS I have attended a private school for most of my life and as the 9th grade English project was approaching I became interested about what life was like in a public school. What interests me the most are the differences that exist between a private and a public school and how they affect the education and way of life of students. I have been playing football for a public school program for 4 years and I have discovered major differences between the people and there backgrounds. First of all I have discovered that school size does not have anything to do with the way students learn, the only difference that it has is that it prepares you for life better. The second difference is the sports education in public schools tends to be better then the ones in private schools. This difference is created by the recruitment office and the way the school approaches there athletics program. The third difference is the budget that the school has to work with. A public school is supported by the government while a private school is supported solely by the students that attend it and the fund raisers that it creates. Violence also seems to be a larger issue in a public school then in a private one. On the news a person always hears shootings that go on in public schools and never about any violence that goes on in a private school. An incident of violence in a private school is just a little tiny one in a public school. This introduction will lead my partner and I to further explore these issues and to find out more facts that distinguish a private and a public school. However large the differences are we personally find that the people are kids just like us, but the only difference is the environment in which they grow up in.
