Tales of the City

Mary Ann Singleton is an innocent young woman from Cleveland who spontaneously decides to move to San Francisco. Her new life in the city is full of adventures and zillions of interlinked stories. As she meets new people, the reader dives deeper into their lives as well as hers. Anna Madrigal is her elderly pot-smoking landlady of 28 Barbary Lane. Living in the same building, Michael Tolliver is the lonely homosexual who moves in with his old bisexual friend Mona Ramsey. The Grande Dame of Hillsborough, Frannie Halcyon, finds that her perfect life is falling apart in surprising ways. Tales of the City is a series of comedic glimpses into the lives of San Franciscans in the seventies.
